Vintage Rhinestone Belt Choker

Vintage Rhinestone Belt ChokerThis choker was originally a fabulous vintage belt which was adorned with jewel coloured rhinestones which are quite beautiful. I have lovingly restored the brocade which was full of holes and made the original buckle into a striking pendant. The whole thing is lined with felt and edged with colourful small beads.

by moving them around and adding other larger beads and buttons into the frame

I've spent many happy hours making the beaded beads for this red and green beetle which I picked up on my travels in Northumberland

We have used beautiful large peacock pearls with a lustre that pairs with the colour of the purse

This piece has been made from an assemblage of an antique brass lid

I loved the combination of the intricately carved needlecase and the simplicity of the contemporary green beads on this piece and the juxtaposition between the old and contemporary elements

the screw fastening between the thimble at the top and the body had worn away so it is now a very pretty pendant to this necklace of pink and orange beads

I really wanted to make it into something special to wear so I have hand beaded a bezzle surround which encases the clockface safely
