This isn't quite as deeply colored as the '95 Charmes (see herein) and the expressive nose is consistent with this as there is more evident maturity to the secondary fruit and earth aromas that display hints of sous-bois
with fine tannins and a subtle thread of acidity going through the core
warm earth and hint of exotic tea aromas
complex and hugely long finish
In addition
fully mature
youthfully austere finish
developing those aromas of smoked bacon
but with no sense of heaviness
camphor and incense
