While there is a trace of volatile acidity
structured and remarkably intense
Like several wines in the range there is an intense floral character to the highly restrained nose that combines notes of red cherry
leather and forest floor nuances
muscular ripe berry and baking spice flavors balanced by a medium to firm level of finely grained tannins and crisp acidity
This too is really quite impressive for a Nuits villages
Note however that this beauty of a Griotte is markedly firm and will not be an especially inviting early drinker
these wines are not meant for near-term gratification
with savoriness that’s hard to articulate
sexy and still balanced
