Miniature Red Silk Georgian Slipper BroochThis little antique red slipper with it's tiny cream tassle is really old. It is handmade and was used to hold a thimble back in the Georgian times when many ladies did a lot of sewing. I have in turn, sewn it onto an oval background and edged with beads to give it a new lease of life as a brooch as it's far too pretty to be hidden away in a cupboard, sewing box or dawer.

I settled on using it as the centrepiece to a bigger pendant and have added more of my own beadwork to tie it in

The pretty figure with Georgian-style dress has a blue and pink brush skirt

that we just had to turn it into something to wear

Pince-Nez literally means pinch your nose in French and it seemed to make sense to create a pair of eyes within the frames

with little moving arms and pink and green detailing to the bodies

scrumpled up and had probably been part of a fabulous garment at some point
