Stein (Small)This Smaller Stein is made from a white stoneware clay with slip decoration. It has been fired in a wood soda kiln to 1300c. The handle is carved diamond willow from our property, penetrated with oil and tied with copper wire. Each piece is unique; a reflection of our approach to the work and firing processes. The shell markings on the foot are from freshwater clam shells reacting with the surface creating a 'man-made fossil' imprint

The pods go in round but beautifully deform with the heat of the flame (fire-forming)

It is cast from an antique milk bottle and has been fired in a wood/soda kiln to 1300c
