WAVES OF SHAME (Katrina) (Original)Original, mixed media on board. 40" x 60". We all know what happened to the poorer communities during the catastrophe that was hurricane Katrina. This piece, "Waves of Shame", is my response to hearing about those were were saved (and not), those who received aid (and those who didn't) , those shot on the bridge trying to escape, and the aftermath, years later, of communities that are still wastelands until developers come scoop up land for pennies on

but the piece wasn't created by a black artist

Created in 1996 during the Olympics here in Atlanta

Believe this: after all we've been through as a race of people

We do have a few that were signed by the artist before his untimely death in 2002

The black and white is  24”x 30” and is signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity

I'm known for my realistic works

I was always surprised at the answers and people's reasons for feeling the way that they did
