Antique Skirt Lifter Necklace

Antique Skirt Lifter NecklaceI love learning about the things that I collect and this lovely pair of hands which dates from the Edwardian period, caught my eye. It turns out that this was a practical little item to clip your skirts up out of the mud. I'm not sure how much use you would get out of it these days, so it is now a delightful pendant on a necklace of vintage metal ribbed beads. Rather a lovely talking point. The clip itself is in excellent working order.

We think these feet were originally made as ashtrays but are in unused condition

They hang from good quality gold-filled earring hooks

We have given it some TLC by backing it and edging with cream seed beads

The travelling dominos in this statement piece are lovely because they are thin and lightweight

I purchased a pair of brightly coloured  hairy slippers from  Marrakesh recently which seemed like a perfect place to start

Old items always intrigue us and this original cigarette box caught our eye
