Multicoloured Vintage Puzzle NecklaceA puzzle and a necklace rolled into one! Its always a challenge to make something interesting out of an unloved, has been item. But, the bright colours of this plastic game (made in Hong Kong) offered interesting possibilities. Its super lightweight, and guaranteed to offer hours of fun (or frustration) trying to solve the puzzle!

Celluloid was invented in 1863 and was popular for dolls from 1870-1930

There is also a hand drawn Japanese figure with text on the plaque

The necklace is made from vintage yellow beads and little white snowflake beads

Finished with a toggle clasp

I love the designs and colours of these old pips

We have used beautiful large peacock pearls with a lustre that pairs with the colour of the purse

I don’t know how they all came together

1944 and 1960 Threepenny Bit coins suspended on vintage orange bead drop earrings

The backing is in dark green felt and it has been edged in mint green seed beads

I really wanted to make it into something special to wear so I have hand beaded a bezzle surround which encases the clockface safely

It was originally used inside a vintage car but is now the centrepiece to a one-off brooch surrounded by haematite and diamanté details
